Wallpaper crafts for Halloween
For the upcoming Halloween festivities, Malin Mörner shows us how to make wallpaper pumpkins. Creative fun for all ages!
You will need
Wallpaper, scissors, glue gun, crêpe paper, needle and thread.
Pumpkins
1. Choose a wallpaper that you like and make an eye-shaped template in it. Length 12.5 cm, width 1.5 cm at the ends and in the middle 4 cm – see image.
2. Lay the template lengthwise on the wallpaper and cut out 6 pieces.
3. Make small holes at each end, around 0.5 cm from the edge.
4. Attach a thread to one end of one of the pumpkin pieces and thread it through the rest of the pieces, so that they are all attached to it at one end. Then thread it through all the top ends of the pumpkin pieces to form a ball, and tie a knot on top to make a nice pumpkin shape. Press it slightly to achieve your desired shape.
5. Take a piece of crêpe paper and cut out a sheet of 6 cm x 10 cm (have it so that you can pull the long edge like a concertina). Pull the crêpe paper on one of the long edges to give the paper a little skirt. Then twist the crêpe paper and pull out the long edge so that it looks like a little mushroom. Bend the paper so that it looks like the hat of a pumpkin.
6. Get your glue gun going and glue the crêpe paper at each end to secure it. Attach it to the pumpkin with the glue gun.
Happy Halloween!
