Information About Our Wallpapers
All our wallpapers are manufactured at Borås Tapetfabrik in Viared, outside Borås, throughout the entire process from the initial sketch to the finished wallpaper. It was also the first wallpaper factory to open in Sweden. Please read more about us, our printing techniques, and our designers.
A mural wallpaper, or a wall motif, is a digitally printed wallpaper panel with a fixed standard size that corresponds to the entire pattern image of the wallpaper. More information can be found at the respective product.
With extra lightfastness, it means it takes a long time before the wallpaper fades from light. All wallpapers fade over time, but with good material selection and manufacturing methods, we have designed our wallpapers to have good lightfastness and thereby a long life.
Yes, our wallpapers are printed on materials from North European paper companies that work with sustainable forestry. As a guarantee of this, we and our suppliers are FSC-certified*. No PVC or harmful solvents are used in the production, and they work only with water-based paints and treatments that can safely be handled in the factory's own purification plant. The factory constantly strives to reduce energy consumption in the production of wallpapers and also tries to minimize waste throughout the process, from roll production to printing. The waste material generated by the production facility in Borås is taken care of and becomes district heating for the city of Borås. And when you receive the finished wallpaper roll from Boråstapeter in your hand, it is packaged in recyclable material.
An FSC-marked product contains certified forest raw material that guarantees sustainable forestry and also social responsibility in the extraction and processing of the raw material.
EasyUp means that the wallpapers are printed on a quality-assured Non-Woven material. Non-Woven wallpapers are made of paper pulp to which polyester fibers have been added to make the strips durable, dimensionally stable, and easy to wallpaper with. EasyUp means that the wallpapers are easy to hang because you apply the glue directly to the wall instead of on the wallpaper. You then get neat seams because the wallpaper is placed edge to edge without overlapping. EasyUp also has sufficient opacity to be able to cover an old wallpaper as a substrate without the old pattern or color showing through.
All our wallpapers are fire rated according to the EU standard EN13501. In most cases, the wallpapers reach class B-s1,d0 without containing flame retardants. The current fire class is printed on the label that comes with your wallpaper.
The strips on most of our wallpapers are 53 cm wide, except for the digitally printed wallpapers, which are 45 or 49 cm wide. With the help of our wallpaper calculator, you can easily figure out how many rolls are needed for your room. Note that the wallpaper calculator cannot help you calculate the number of rolls for wall motifs, as these have a fixed standard measurement that corresponds to the entire pattern image of the wallpaper. You can find the measurement on the product page.
It may be good to know that the wallpaper calculator calculates for entire walls and does not take into account doors and windows. It is therefore normal to have a bit of wallpaper left over. We recommend keeping any leftover wallpaper in case an accident happens and a strip needs to be replaced in the future because it can be difficult to get the same print number.
All colors for our wallpapers are mixed by hand in the factory. It is a solid craftsmanship, and therefore there are no specific color codes available. Our tip is to bring a piece of wallpaper to a paint shop, where they can help you mix a color that matches the wallpaper.
Sometimes the color reproduction in pictures of wallpapers differs from reality. Also, remember that pictures look different on different monitors.
This is a collection that is constantly updated. The collection contains only digital motifs that are custom-ordered according to the dimensions of your wall. The strips are 49 cm wide, and the height and total length are always adapted to the dimensions you specify when placing your order.
Wallpapering
Our wallpapers are not classified for use in wet areas according to current building standards, but it is of course possible to wallpaper a space with a toilet and sink where the humidity is considerably less than in a bathroom equipped with a shower or bathtub.
Our wallpapers have extra washability, meaning you can easily remove most dirt stains. Here's how:
- Wet the stain with a cloth or sponge (use a soap solution or a bit of mild dish detergent).
- Wipe off with plenty of lukewarm water to remove all soap residues.
- Wipe away excess water and let the wallpaper air dry.
Try to avoid getting liquid in the seams where the wallpaper is unprotected.
